About the role

Bathurst Regional Council is currently seeking a suitably experienced person to join the Recreation Section's Mowing Crew as a Plant Operator/Labourer.

As Plant Operator / Labourer within Council’s Recreation Section, you will be required to undertake mowing maintenance to various parks and reserves, undertake irrigation maintenance, general parks labouring duties and other associated operational duties as required. 

The successful candidate will be required to undertake mowing and general grounds maintenance duties to Council's various parks, reserves, sports fields & open space areas as directed, conduct mowing maintenance duties utilising tractor and tractor mounted equipment as required, provide relief on other items of plant where appropriate and required, provide alternative labouring duties as required, carry out all duties to a satisfactory standard and ensure that safe working procedures are observed and adhered to.   

Key Requirements

  • Current NSW Class C Drivers' Licence 
  • Sound experience in the operation of tractor / slasher and or tractor/mower combinations
  • Sound knowledge of mowing and labouring operations 
  • Adequate numeracy and literacy skills to fulfil the requirements of the position
  • The agreement to take leave in accordance with the Recreation Section's leave roster outside the recognised peak growing season

This position requires a pre employment health assessment which includes a functional, audio and drug & alcohol screen.

Salary: $1,008.70 to $1,059.81 per week + super + adverse working allowance ($18.28 pw)

Position Status: Permanent Full Time 

Hours of work: 38 hours per week with an RDO every third week
