City of Newcastle (CN) is currently seeking Commissionaires to join our Civic Services team on a casual basis. Civic Services manages key CN venues and cultural facilities. The team is passionate about Newcastle, culture, and the venues they look after, all with the aim of greater community benefit.

As a Commissionaire, you’ll draw upon your security, event and venue operations, and audio-visual experience with a focus on providing high standards of customer service, security, and room presentation. You will primarily support event and venue operations within City Hall, Fort Scratchley Function Centre and City Administration Centre, as well as supporting events/meetings in additional locations as required.

Specific duties will include but are not limited to: event setup (including audio-visual and staging), providing cleaning and venue presentation services; undertaking routine maintenance activities; and providing all required event and security support for civic events such as Council Meetings and Citizenship Ceremonies. In this role you may have to deal with difficult situations on occasion, so strong emotional maturity and discretion are required.

Remuneration:  Casual hourly rate of $40.76 + 11% Superannuation (inclusive of casual loading).
