City of Newcastle (CN) is currently seeking multiple Casual Food and Beverage Team Members to join the team at our iconic venues, Civic Theatre, City Hall, and Fort Scratchley.

As a Casual Food and Beverage Team Member, you’ll work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment to provide our customers with a first-class experience in live performance, functions, or events. You will have experience in catering, banquet service, or as a bartender and possess the ability to deliver a high level of food and beverage service. Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Support colleagues to enable delivery of services at highest possible standards
  • Set up and pack down of service areas and event spaces
  • Operating and maintaining the allocated food & beverage equipment
  • Engage with customers and impart your knowledge of our venues and upcoming events
  • Work as part of a team or autonomously in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment
  • Contribute effectively to deliver high standard live performance, functions and events

The essentials you'll need:

  • Current RSA certificate
  • Demonstrated experience in food and beverage service, specifically in bar and catering operations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent personal presentation and a positive friendly demeanour
  • A commitment to best practice customer experience
  • High level attention to detail including the ability to work accurately from a detailed run sheet
  • A flexible, positive and hands on approach
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure

Remuneration: Casual Food and Beverage Team Member hourly rate of $38.92 (inclusive of 25% loading) + 11% Superannuation. Weekend penalty rates and overtime paid as available.
