Environmental Protection Officer

• Work within a multi-disciplinary team to assess, investigate, and respond to environmental issues and assist our community in protecting and maintain a healthy environment.
• Temporary contract until July 2025
• 35-hour per week position with flexible working arrangements on offer

City of Newcastle (CN) is looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic Environmental Protection Officer to join the Environmental Health Team within Planning, Transport and Regulation to provide a high level of professional service and specialist technical advice to CN and the community.

As the Environmental Protection Officer, you will assist in the assessment of environmental health issues associated with development applications as well as the service delivery of environmental health inspection programs including the carrying out of inspections.

Your role will also see you assist in responding to a range of customer requests, including the carrying out of associated investigations, enforcement action and the provision of advice and education to the community.
