What you'll do

Working within our City Operations team the Work Group Leader City Clean will be responsible for the delivery of road sweeping, storm water maintenance and the proactive collection and reporting of illegally dumped rubbish.

The Work Group Leader City Clean will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating, scheduling and supervising the City Clean team and external contractors to ensure services are delivered efficiently and effectively.
  • Coaching, motivating and training staff to develop the necessary skills to deliver cleansing services.
  • Actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintaining appropriate records for labour, equipment and materials, such as timesheets, work rosters and inspection reports.
  • Ensuring equipment is maintained in a clean, safe and serviceable condition.
  • In conjunction with other Work Group Leaders assisting with the allocation of resources, staff and machinery for the work teams within  City Operations
  • Managing team performance in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.

This role is hands on so it's important that you have the capacity to undertake manual work. You'll need to have great communication skills (both written and verbal) and demonstrate a positive can do attitude.

As each day provides a new challenge, you must be able to adapt to changing situations as they arise and have good administration skills with regard to record keeping

You must also have a minimum essential qualifications as per the following:

  • Certificate 3 or Certificate 4 in Plant Operations, Management or equivalent relevant qualification.
  • Work Zone Traffic Management Certificate.
  • Appropriate licences and certificates to operate plant and equipment associated with the position.

In addition, accordance with the requirements of this role, a National Police Clearance and a current Driver's Licence (minimum class MR) will be required as part of the Recruitment process.
