Your new role:

We are currently seeking an eager and enthusiastic Registered Nurse Supervisor to join our Wintringham – Hobart Aged Care Home on a Part Time basis. This exciting position aims at delivering services and providing clinical support and advice for Supervisors while also assisting with urgent operational matters. You will be required to fulfill the needs of residents and support staff in the provision of clinical care. As a key ‘go to’ Registered Nurse Supervisor for the team, you will have an excellent understanding of current best practice guidelines and be confident in providing clinical and operational advice and guidance. The role covers multiple shifts for a total for 59.5 hours per fortnight. The roster is as below:

 

Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday (2200 – 0730)

Week 2: Wednesday & Thursday (2200 – 0730)

 

Your responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Provide mentoring and support for staff throughout the shift
  • Allocate staff according to resident care requirements and staff skill mix
  • Undertake detailed clinical assessments of unwell residents
  • Provide/directly supervise complex care such as wound management, palliative care, and emergency procedures.
  • Provide leadership in the management of residents exhibiting behaviours of concern
  • Provide leadership in the management of cigarette and alcohol programs
  • Develop admission / respite care plans for new residents
  • Supporting care staff to assess residents changing care needs
  • Liaise with medical practitioners, pharmacists and other health services

 

What we need from you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or equivalent)
  • Current AHPRA Registration
  • Previous experience as a Supervisor/Team Leader is highly advantageous
  • Experience in Aged Care + ACFI
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills – written, verbal + interpersonal
  • The ability to manage effectively with conflicting deadlines
  • Proven ability to lead a team of multi-disciplinary staff
  • The ability to enhance or maintain our resident’s independence and lifestyle
  • A friendly, approachable and non-judgmental attitude

Successful candidates will be required to comply with the Wintringham Health and Immunisation policy including having three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine as well as a 2024 Influenza vaccination before commencing employment and must provide evidence.
