We are seeking a Product Category Specialist to support and grow optimisation of the Me&U table ordering platform across multiple venues at Howard Smith Wharves. You will play a crucial role in formulating and developing category strategies to achieve sales and profit targets. You will collaborate with Venue Managers and cross-functional teams, analyse market trends, and optimise our product offerings to understand and enhance guest experiences and maximize revenue.
This is a unique role that combines digital world, with good old fashion hospitality guest service. Ultimately, your success will be judged by the ongoing guest take up of the Me&U system at HSW and the sales the platform delivers to the business.

What we’re looking for:
As a Product Category Specialist, you will play a crucial role in growing and developing category strategies to achieve sales and profit targets. You will collaborate with Venue Managers and cross-functional teams, analyse market trends, and optimise the product offerings to understand and enhance guest experiences to maximise revenue and profit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop category strategies and plans to achieve defined sales and profit targets
- Conduct thorough research on consumer trends, competitor products, and pricing to identify opportunities and inform decision-making
- Work closely with the marketing team to create and execute promotional plans that drive category sales and enhance brand visibility
- Utilise sales data analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and make data-driven recommendations
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with Venue Managers to understand their needs to improve trends and maximise revenue and profit
- Support the strategic planning, development, and execution of product categories across various business entities within the organization
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain Manager to negotiate favourable pricing and contracts, ensuring optimal product availability
- Have a solid understanding of technology and be comfortable using various tech tools
Experience:
- Proven experience in product growth and analysis
- Strong analytical skills including the ability to distil, synthesize and draw conclusions on large amounts of data
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- A passion for hospitality and a keen understanding of customer needs
- Excellent attention to detail and follow through
- Ability to work within strict time frames and deadlines
- Strong organisational, multi-tasking and communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office with an emphasis on MS Excel and experience with data analysis tools
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and peers
- Me&U experience highly regarded
