Works Supervisor Operations (Civil Construction) - Gloucester

The role & you

Mid Coast Council is seeking a Works Supervisor (Civil Construction) to join our Operations North team, based at our Gloucester depot. The position will report directly to the Works Engineer (Construction & Maintenance) and will be responsible for coordinating work crews in the effective service delivery of:

  • Construction of roads, bridges, footpaths, cycleways and storm-water drainage networks
  • Providing construction services to transport assets 
  • Delivering planned maintenance programs
  • Delivering capital works projects
  • Emergency/disaster response and repair (respond to emergencies and natural disaster damage on transport assets, including repairs)

To apply for this position, you must hold a minimum of Certificate III in Civil Construction or have relevant experience, and have working knowledge of road, drainage and bridge construction and maintenance.

The successful applicant will also:

    • Demonstrate strong leadership skills, such as; communication, delegation and people management
    • Be committed to achieving organisational outcomes through collaboration with our internal and external stakeholders
    • Have a sound working knowledge of WHS requirements in construction and contribute to the implementation of Council's safety culture values 
    • Display effective time-management and problem-solving capabilities 
    • Be able to be a part of the "on call" rotating roster

Salary: Commencing salary package circa range $80,600 to $96,700 p.a. plus superannuation (dependent on candidates previous skills and experience) 

Location: This position will be based at our Works Depot located on Oak Street, Gloucester. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
