The role

This position sits within the Water Project Delivery department of the Infrastructure & Engineering Services division and is an integral member of the Capital Works – Water Team. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management and delivery of projects for Council’s Capital Works Program for Water and Sewer Infrastructure. This will involve working across detail design, project planning, implementation and finalisation phases, as well as the management of multiple projects and tasks that often have competing demands. You will be highly motivated with impressive time management skills and extensive contract management experience. Your ability to collaborate and work closely with multiple stakeholders coupled with being a proactive and critical-thinker will see you succeed in this rewarding opportunity. 

What you'll bring

  • Degree level qualifications in either Mechanical, Process/Chemical, Civil Engineering, or Construction Project Management or a similar field
  • Expertise within financial and time constraints, operating across a diverse organisation
  • Extensive experience in all aspects of project management and procurement procedures with proven effective and efficient outcomes
  • Working knowledge of Engineering Standards, Local Government Act and related Regulations and Codes
  • Knowledge of Water and Sewer infrastructure related projects and asset management principles and techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a number of complex projects concurrently 
  • Proven high level customer service skills in regard to both internal and external stakeholders
  • High level of written and oral communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise business cases and reports
  • Demonstrated competencies in risk assessment, design development, cost estimating, producing technical specifications and contract documentation, contract administration and of WHS systems

Salary: 

Package is inclusive of:

  • Commencing salary will be dependent on qualifications, skills and experience of the successful applicant with a range of circa $102,000 to $122,000 p.a. 
  • Superannuation (11%)
  • Leaseback vehicle agreement

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
