The role & you

We currently have 2 Property Officer vacancies available. Both positions sit within the Property section of the Governance department and are responsible for the provision of property management services to both internal and external customers, as well as investigating and responding to Aboriginal land claims made over Council owned and managed land. To be successful, you will be a dynamic property professional who can act independently in the performance of all property management functions across a diverse property portfolio. This requires a strategic approach to the management of Council’s property portfolio, working to deadlines and managing changing priorities whilst considering the needs of the community. 

We are looking for someone who has: 

  • TAFE Diploma in Property Management/Real Estate/Conveyancing related discipline or similar field
  • Demonstrated experience in the negotiation and preparation of leases, licences and other tenancies
  • Substantial knowledge of contract, lease and license legislation, procedures and documentation
  • Demonstrated initiative, self-motivation and ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated commitment to a high level of customer service and the ability to engage with members of the community and users of council’s facilities

Salary: Base salary $70,100 p.a. plus superannuation. (commencing salary will be negotiated with the successful candidate depending on qualifications, skills and experience)  

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
