The role & you
MidCoast Council is looking for a Water Asset Officer to join our Water Planning & Assets team within the Infrastructure and Engineering Services Division. This role involves maintaining and improving asset data for the council’s water and sewer assets, ensuring that information is accurate and up to date.
You will support the Team Leader Asset Systems Water in managing asset data, including creating and updating asset details, condition data, and more. Your duties will include reviewing and improving the asset register by fixing errors and ensuring consistent naming conventions. You will also participate in site visits to collect and update asset information and assist with the processing of new assets.
Collaboration with other teams is key in this role. You will help improve the use of the MC1 system and assist in the capitalisation process for water and sewer assets.
We are looking for candidates with experience in asset data management, especially in water or sewer systems. Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work with others are important. Experience with asset management systems such as MC1 will be advantageous.

Salary: Commencing salary circa $72,000 p.a. - $79,000 p.a. plus superannuation (commencing salary will be negotiated with the successful candidate depending on qualifications, skills and experience)
A vehicle arrangement will be made with the successful candidate for this role. Council will provide you with a leaseback vehicle for an annual fee calculated as 20% of the gross purchase price. This is a fully maintained vehicle for both business and full private use with no additional expenses in normal use.
Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
