Care & Support Worker

Casual Basis

 

  • Competitive base rates: $31.05 - $34.69 per hour (dependant on qualifications) + 25% Casual loading

Your new role

We are currently seeking a flexible and experienced Care & Support Worker to join our team on a Part basis. You will be working across our community care program based in and around Ascot Vale ,Broadmeadows and Seddon , assisting our clients in their homes. So – what is a day in the life of a Community Care & Support Worker?

No two days will be the same in this fast paced and dynamic role. In your new role, some of the requirements will include:

  • Community Support: escorting our clients on community outings e.g. shopping trips, excursions, lunches, appointments
  • Transport: escorting our clients to medical and allied health appointments, hospital visits and respite care
  • Domestic Support: cleaning, tidying, changing bedding to ensure a safe, clean and sanitized environment for our client
  • Personal Care: showering, oral care and continence management
  • Medication Assistance: Administering and monitoring medications, assisting with dressings and basic observations
  • Food Preparation: preparing, cooking and serving of meals

 

What we will need from you:

  • A valid Drivers licence and a suitable vehicle for transporting clients
  • Completed Certificate III/IV in Aged Care/Individual Support (or working towards)
  • Medication endorsement is favourable, but not essential
  • Prior experience in Aged or Community Care (preferred but not essential)
  • Geographical understanding and willingness to travel to and around the northern and western suburbs
  • A non-judgmental approach with the ability to work with people from varying socio-economic backgrounds

Successful applicants will be required to undergo a NDIS Worker Screening Check and Police Records check. Refusal to provide your information to both of these parties will prevent Wintringham from being able to continue with your application.

Applicants who have lived in a country other than Australia for a period longer than 12 months in the last 10 years may be required to undergo an International Police Check.

Successful candidates will be required to comply with the Wintringham Health and Immunisation policy including having three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine as well as a 2024 influenza vaccination before commencing employment and must provide evidence.
