One Door Mental Health (ODMH) is looking for a Credentialed Mental Health Nurse (CNS 1 / CNS 2) to join our incredible team in Carlton on a permanent part-time basis.

About the Program

The PICS program provides evidence based mental health interventions, linking clients to primary health and psychosocial supports to meet the individual needs of those who experiences severe mental illness. PICS is delivered by a team of experienced and credentialed mental health nurses and peer workers.

About the Role

As a PICS Mental Health Nurse, you will work on a permanent part-time basis in a team with peer workers and be supported by the PICS manager, peer worker coordinator, One Door Clinical Director and other PICS nurses. Our mental health nurses provide clinical care and care coordination, develop collaborative care plans with other providers, including PICS peer workers, who provide psychosocial support.

Your skills and experience

  1. Credentialed with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses (or evidence of working towards being credentialed within 12 months)

  2. Minimum 5 years’ experience as a mental health nurse within a community setting

  3. Willing to complete Cultural Competency training & Trauma Informed Care in Practice training, if not done in last two years

  4. Experience working with GPs and community-based psychiatrists

  5. Ability to work in a team environment yet in a very autonomous role

  6. Ability to self-manage a practice

  7. Ability to work with and support peer workers

  8. Flexibility and creativity in supporting individuals

  9. Ability to use internet based CMS program effectively

Additional Details

One Door Mental Health requires all staff to have a Police Check clearance, a current Working with Children's Check and NDIS Worker Screening clearance and appropriate COVID-19 Vaccination.
