Wintringham is a specialised non-religious not-for-profit welfare organisation. We are committed to providing older people who are at risk or have experienced homelessness with a range of high-quality care, housing and services. We employ more than 1,000 staff across Victoria and Tasmania.

 

Your new role

Wintringham is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic professional to join our Workforce Solutions Team on a Part Time basis. The role will be based at either the Outer North Office (Broadmeadows) or the South East Office (Braeside).

This fast-paced and dynamic role covering 25 hours each week will see you liaising with our management team, Wintringham staff and Wintringham clients to provide a high-level service of care in the community. No two days are the same in our rostering team, so ideally, you will be flexible in your approach and be able to manage, prioritise and organise your time and workload effectively. A willingness and eagerness to work in a dynamic environment are required for this role.

Previous experience in a rostering role is preferred, but not essential, as Wintringham will provide excellent training and support to you from day one. This is an excellent opportunity if you have direct rostering/shift-fill skills and experience or transferable skills in community/aged care/disability support/Recreation or Nursing and are ready for a change.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Take calls from staff when they call in sick, inform Case Managers and cover vacancies
  • Notify Care and Support Workers, Case Managers and clients of any rostering changes
  • Co-ordinate rosters around sick and annual leave
  • Co-ordinate the coverage of client appointments and meal delivery when required
  • Undertake pro-active workforce planning to maintain and enhance continuity of care for clients
  • Dissemination of weekly rosters
  • Maintenance of rosters
  • Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times.

What we will require from you:

  • High level computer skills 
  • Ability to relate to staff all levels
  • Ability to work at a high level of autonomy, prioritising work within established policies, guidelines and procedures
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to handle difficult situations
  • Ability to maintain a customer service focus under pressure
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, diplomacy and tact
  • Knowledge of rostering systems would be advantageous, but not essential.
  • Workforce planning, rostering, allocations, or scheduling experience.

Successful candidates will be required to comply with the Wintringham Health and Immunisation policy including having three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine as well as a 2024 flu immunisation vaccine before commencing employment and must provide evidence.
