About The Company
Our client is a Not-for-profit Indigenous Corporation that employs people in all facets of the building Industry, they construct houses, do housing renovations, batch & pour concrete, run a Mini Mart & Takeaway, own & operate a 86 room Resort in Darwin &have recently purchased a controlling interest in a Food Wholesale business. They have contracts with the NT Government, South 32 & East Arnhem Regional Council & Anindilyakwa Land Council. With bases in Umbakumba, Milyakburra & Alyangula, they also provide Aged Care Support in Groote & Bickerton & have a Respite facility in Cairns, have 50 children being Educated (mainstream) in Queensland. They also have the RSAS contract for the Commonwealth Government.
About The Opportunity
As the Project Manager, you will report directly to the CEO & will be managing a team of carpenters, plumbers, electricians, welders, & painters.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing & managing the daily operations of the Construction team
- Preparing tenders & quotes for renovations, house extensions & new builds
- Addressing issues & problems within your job description
- Being able to do take-offs, order materials & read plans
- Being able to manage a construction team
- Improving quality, productivity, & efficiency
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- A Valid Builder's Licence (Required)
- Strong leadership & Management skills & experience with CAD
- Have a Carpentry(construction) background with a range of skills
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills & a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
- Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, communicate with clients & gain their confidence
