About The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Department Manager – Defecting to lead the defect management division. In this full-time, permanent role, you will be responsible for managing multiple defecting projects, teams, and client relationships from start to finish. This hands-on leadership role involves team coordination, operational oversight, site visits, project tracking, and client engagement.

Reporting to the General Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating defecting services to meet project and client requirements
  • Supervising project leads, assistants, and inspectors
  • Managing inspection standards, quality control, and reporting
  • Overseeing recruitment, training, reviews, and scheduling
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and procedures
  • Providing excellent customer service and timely client reports

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • White Card (Construction Induction Card)
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
  • Experience in off-the-plan residential property or construction is preferred
  • Familiarity with inspection platforms (e.g. Aconex Field, Procore, Visibuild, Hammertech)

You will also have:

  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to problem-solve and manage teams effectively
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Willingness to travel interstate as required
