About The Role
In this leadership position, you will manage a multi-disciplinary team, driving a culture focused on positive outcomes for Council and the community. Your expertise in research, planning and performance management will ensure the delivery of safe, sustainable and compliant tree management services.
You will be accountable for strategic planning, budget management and enhancing service delivery through collaborative and informed decision-making, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practices.

What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a confident, proactive leader with a strong background and qualifications in arboriculture, environmental management or a related field. You will bring a demonstrated ability to lead and inspire others and a proven track record of delivering safe, sustainable and community-focused tree management outcomes.
You’ll need to have extensive experience working in complex, community-facing environments, ideally with exposure to local government or similar public service settings. Your ability to manage budgets, lead planning initiatives and embed performance-driven processes will be crucial to your success in this role.
You should be comfortable navigating legislative and policy frameworks, with a strong understanding of arboricultural best practice, urban canopy planning and risk management. A key part of this role is stakeholder engagement, so excellent interpersonal and communication skills—along with a high level of emotional intelligence—are essential.
