About the Opportunity

Vital Health has two (2) full-time contract opportunities for Exercise Physiologists to join their team based in Roma in south-west Queensland and Inverell in north-east New South Wales. Initial contracts are for 12 months, with renewal available for the right candidates.

Reporting to the VHSWQ Clinical Coordinator (Roma) or the VHI Director (Inverell), these roles will see you delivering professional Exercise Physiology services that are client goal focused and contribute to holistic outcomes to the client and/or community group you are working with. These are generalist positions that will present you with an excellent opportunity to learn a range of skills across Cardiac Rehab, Sleep Health, Workplace Health and Indigenous Health. Working across a wide client base, you will mainly focus on Weight Loss, Chronic Disease, Aged Care, NDIS and Cardiology.

Some of your duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Provision of Exercise Physiology toward client-centred goals, wellness and optimal health status;
  • Using clinical reasoning, evidence-based practice and best care practice to ensure clinical standards are met and maintained;
  • Working collaboratively with the visiting Cardiologist to provide ECGs, stress testing and echo stress testing (primarily Roma position);
  • Liaising with other disciplines to develop appropriate and well-coordinated holistic treatment regimes for patients; and
  • Empowering clients to take control of their condition through education, home, gym and clinical based exercise programs, community engagement and interaction.

About You

To be considered for either of these positions you must have tertiary qualifications as an Exercise Physiologist and hold registration with AHPRA and ESSA. Prior to commencement, you will need to hold a current blue card and submit to a Police Check. A current Driver's License is highly desirable, however, is not mandatory.

This is a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates looking to kickstart their career, with the chance to explore a wide range of clinical areas before selecting a specialisation. It is also a perfect opportunity for experienced practitioners with an interest in cardiology to take on further training, with Vital Health working with the successful candidates to develop a client base and career development path that best suits their particular interests and skillsets.

While you will be working as a part of a multi-disciplinary team of allied health professionals, and there are other Exercise Physiologists within the company, you will be the only Exercise Physiologist working at your chosen site. Because of this, you will need to be able to work autonomously and demonstrate the ability to seek support from your team where challenges arise.

Vital Health is looking for personable, positive people who are excited about the opportunity to live and work in a regional centre and will embrace all that these communities and lifestyles have to offer.
