Sutherland Shire Family Services is a community-based, not-for-profit organisation which provides a range of innovative and professional services to children, young people and families living in the Sutherland Shire and St George area. They are the umbrella organisation for all services provided within the Shire Family Centre located in the Sutherland Shire.

About the Opportunity 

Sutherland Shire Family Services has a fantastic opportunity for a full-time Program Manager to join its team based in Sutherland Shire, NSW.

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational service delivery of a range of programs provided by Sutherland Shire Family Services. You'll  be working with an experienced and well-established 12 member team that handles a diverse set of complex cases.

More specifically, some of your duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Providing management support to ensure the supervision needs of Family Services caseworkers and staff employed in additional projects within the organisation is in place and effective;
  • Providing support to staff who are working within strengths-based and trauma-informed frameworks with families & children impacted by domestic & family violence;
  • Coordinating the services, programs and projects delivered to client families and the broader community;
  • Ensuring that all Sutherland Shire Family Services operations are in accordance with the principles of family work and ethical practice; and
  • Providing a timely response to the needs and concerns of staff.

To be successful in the role, you will have qualifications in social work, social science or a related discipline. You will have strong casework experience, along with experience working with women and children impacted by domestic and family violence.

In this senior role, you'll have the proven ability to lead and manage teams, with demonstrated experience in effectively supervising, supporting and developing staff.

Your experience with budgets, data collection, reporting procedures and funding agreements will help you excel in this role. You'll be results oriented, with an ability to plan, monitor and report on relevant outcomes.

To make an impact in this role, you will have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills in order to provide leadership to a multi-disciplinary team, as well as strong project management and IT skills. 

You will also ideally have a current driver's licence, a Working With Children Clearance and have experience working within a trauma informed framework.
