Changes in our organisational structure to enable additional resourcing within our Rating Services team has resulted in the following exciting opportunities.

Senior Revenue Officer

You'll play a vital role in supporting our organisational objectives by managing customer requests, and ensuring compliance with legislative standards and corporate policies. This includes documenting and reviewing rating and revenue policies and processes and identifying and implementing improvement opportunities.

Your ability to prepare monthly performance and status reports for management on the activities of the rating services area will be highly regarded, and your attention to detail will ensure the preparation of annual returns and claims are completed to a high standard.

Tenure: Permanent, Full-time.

Salary: Commencing salary circa $70,000 p.a. plus superannuation.

Revenue Officer

As a Revenue Officer, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Rating and Billing processes. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks aimed at maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Your key responsibilities include processing pensioner rebates, entering financial data. processing adjustments to rates assessments and providing prompt and courteous responses to customer correspondence and inquiries.

Tenure: Permanent, Full-time.

Salary: Commencing salary circa $61,000 p.a. plus superannuation. 

Debt Recovery Officer x 2

Utilising your excellent finance and customer service skills you will ensure the timely collection of outstanding rates, water, and miscellaneous accounts owed to Council. Your responsibilities will include reviewing outstanding balance reports, negotiating payment arrangements with customers, initiating legal recovery actions when necessary, and maintaining accurate records of all debt recovery communications and activities. As a Debt Recovery Officer, you will monitor payment schedules, initiate legal recovery actions, and reconcile invoices from Debt Recovery Agents. You will also be responsible for responding to customer inquiries promptly and courteously, providing high levels of customer service in line with corporate standards. 

Salary: Commencing salary circa $66,000 p.a. plus superannuation (pro-rata for part-time position). 

Tenure: Permanent. 1 x Full-time, 1 x Part-time (15 hours per week - flexible hours and days).

Location: All positions are based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

What you'll bring

  • Minimum TAFE Certificate IV in Accounting / Finance or equivalent with a preference for Diploma level qualifications 
  • Demonstrated customer service approach, with a history of proven delivery of high levels of customer service in a financial services environment.
  • Relevant experience and transferrable skills for the position/s you are applying for.
  • Experience in the interpretation of documentation such as legislation, regulations or standards relevant to the role being undertaken.
