About the Program
The Primary Integrated Care Support (PICS) program provides evidence based mental health interventions, linking clients to primary health and psychosocial supports to meet the individual needs of those who experiences severe mental illness. PICS is delivered by a team of experienced and credentialed mental health nurses and peer workers.
About the Role
PICS Peer Workers will build one to one supportive relationships and client groups, based on Peer Support Values and Principles, that focus on the use of lived experience to support the people we work with in regards to the individuals needs and recovery.

Your skills and experience

Personal Lived Experience of living with a Mental Health condition, hardship and Recovery

Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (CHC43515) or willingness to obtain within the first 12 months of employment.

Experience working in the community.

Driver’s licence and access to a comprehensively insured motor vehicle

Willingness to complete Cultural Competency training.

Ability to work in a team environment, yet in a very autonomous role.

Ability to self-manage a workload.
-
Ability to work with and support nurses and clients/ consumers.
-
Ability to use internet-based CMS program effectively and general computer skills.
-
Flexibility and creativity in supporting individuals.
-
Current and valid First Aid certificate

Mental Health Peer Worker experience

Previous experience working in mental health or social services
Additional Details
One Door Mental Health requires all staff to have a Police Check clearance, a current Working with Children's Check and NDIS Worker Screening clearance and appropriate COVID-19 Vaccination.
